While waiting for a new book to come out (THE RIVER WIDOW, December 1), one of the best things an author can do is begin working on a new project. I've written before about timing, and this may seem crazy, but my novel for 2019 (MERCY ROAD) is already written and is entering the editorial process at my publisher. So I've begun outlining and researching my next book, tentatively titled THE PARIS INHERITANCE. The premise of the novel was inspired by a non-fiction account of the vibrant jazz scene in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s. We never know where inspiration will come from... this was a surprise, but a very welcome one.
